Giuseppe Vasari Italian, circa 1970 gilt metal figural chess set with kings as Medieval monarchs, queens as consorts, bishops as knights in armor bearing lances, knights wearing armor on horse, rooks as turrets, pawns as knights, together with an metal mounted onyx chess board with figural putti supports. The pieces signed with etched mark and original labels. Wear throughout, losses to gilt, scratches. One knight missing. Board measures 16" x 16-1/4", king measures 3-1/2" H.
