3rd Cent. Ghadaran Stone Buddha Figure

Circa 3rd Century A.D. Ghandaran Carved Schist Seated Buddha Figure. Measures 17-1/2" H, 9" W, 3" D. Attached to custom metal base 9-1/4" L x 3-3/4" D, 1-1/2" H. Provenance: Spink & Son Auction, London 7/6/1987. The sculpture was recently damaged in moving, an insurance claim for $18,000.00 was paid by the insurance carrier and current consignor of the sculpture. Condition: The recent damage consists of a piece approx. 3-1/4" x 7-3/4" (plus a few small fragments) was broken off from the top above the Buddha figure.
